CoD Black Ops 2 Collectors Editions break into Amazon Top 10

CoD Black Ops 2 News: Amazon has both CoD Black Ops 2 Hardened Edition and Care Package Edition in its top 20 games sold, with three of four versions in the top 10.

The CoD Black Ops 2 collector’s editions, Hardened Edition and Care Package Edition, were revealed only this week, and yet they’ve broken into Amazon’s top games sold list. The pre-order surge has put the Xbox 360 version of CoD Black Ops 2 Hardened Edition in spot No. 4, while its PS3 counterpart took No. 8. In between them is the CoD Black Ops 2 Care Package Edition for Xbox 360 at No. 6. This is despite the heftier price of this version.

The CoD Black Ops 2 Care Package Edition for PS3 is currently just missing the top 10, waiting at No. 11 on the Amazon list. What’s still remarkable about this is that these more expensive collector’s editions of CoD Black Ops 2 are much pricier than the $60 standalone game. Hardened Edition is $80 and the Care Package Edition is $180 - an extra Benjamin Franklin just for that Remote Controlled Drone and care package container. On top of that, they games don’t come out until November 18 of this year and they’re are competing with already-released games and accessories at a much cheaper price like currently-hot Madden NFL 13, Guild Wars 2, the Max Payne 3 and GTA IV bundle and the always-present Microsoft Xbox Live Points Game Code.

Borderlands 2 is also going strong on the Amazon games list, but only the Xbox 360 version of that game has made it into the top 20. CoD Black Ops 2 looks poised to dominate the charts on Amazon from now until its November 13 release date with, essentially, six versions (if you include the standalone Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions) of the game available at retail.
