Darksiders 2 News: This Darksiders 2 gameplay video on YouTube has us anticipated the sequel Vigil Games' apocalypse-set, horseman-filled action game.

Darksiders 2 release date trailer

The Darksiders 2 release date is half a month away, so THQ and developer Vigil Games are hyping the impending release with another gameplay trailer featuring dark hero character, Death. Calling him "the most feared four horsemen of the apocalypse," Death is set to take on the lead role in this sequel for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and, eventually the Wii U. His brother, War, was the protagonist of the first game released in January 2010.

This particular two-minute Darksiders 2 YouTube trailer does a good job of exploring the many enemies that Death will face in the game. The video labels them in groups: The Ancient, The Corrupted, The Holy, and The Damned. From a scary-looking angel to a menacing devil, there are a lot of bosses and mini-bosses to battle in this promising game.

With the Darksiders 2 release date happening August 14 here in North America (Europe has an August 21 release date), the game will break up the summer lull, which hasn't had a potential triple-A action game since early summer, so gamers should love Darksiders 2 to... Death.

Here's the Darksiders 2 trailer:
