MechWarrior Online News: MechWarrior Online, the free-to-play game in beta right now, is touting another benefit of its paid Founder's Program, the Jenner JR7 mech.

MechWarrior Online beta

MechWarrior Online, the F2P game that's going into closed beta is free to play, but it's giving gamers another reason to join its paid Founder's Program: the lightweight, nimble Jenner JR7 mech, as seen in the YouTube trailer below. This 35 ton mech has a max speed of 118 km/h (that's 73.3 for everyone keeping score at home) and comes with four built-in lasers and short range missiles. On top of being a speedy, agile mech, the Jenner JR7 has jumpjets to even more flexibility.

The downside to playing as the Jenner JR7 in MWO? Its lack of armor, of course. That's how every match-up works in video games, essentially. Still, the Warrior Online gameplay trailer demos an aggressive, hard-to-pin-down mech in the Jenner JR7. If you're good enough, larger mechs won't stand a chance.

The MechWarrior Online Founder's Program includes early closed beta access (starting August 7), meaning no beta keys to worry about hunting down. This premium MWO account also has the four exclusive Founder's battlemechs, in-game currency of $80 and your name in the credits. Finally, there's a snazzy Founder's Program tag.

Check back for more MechWarrior Online updates as the close beta nears and a release date gets announced soon after that
