Darksiders 2 release date delayed

Darksiders 2 release date News: Death will take two extra months with a new August release date for Darksiders 2 on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The Darksiders 2 release date has a two-month stay of execution, from June to August, due to a delay that effects the game on all platforms, the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Not effected is the planned Darksiders 2 Wii U release date, which isn't official, but speculated to be late 2012, around the launch of the Nintendo Wii U console.

THQ assured eager gamers that this delay will only make Darksiders 2 a better game in the end and that no cuts will be made to the final game. Likewise, their pre-orders and Darksiders 2 pre-order bonuses won't be effected. ?The team asked for more time to polish the huge amount of content included in this ambitious project,? said the publisher in a Q&A on the official Darksiders 2 website. ?We are all committed to making Darksiders II the highest-quality game possible and the additional time will allow the team to do just that. The game content remains unchanged, as do our future DLC plans.?

The exact Darksiders 2 release date isn't known beyond the August 2012 window. However, THQ did mention that it'll vary by region, just like the original June release date did. No word on whether or not the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC release dates will be staggered, as many PC games tend to get a small delay.
