SWTOR News: Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting a beefy update next month and you can now bring a friend along in your galactic journey with a one-week free tr
Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Update 1.2, set for an April release date, makes SWTOR seem even more like a World of Warcraft MMO clone by beginning with the incremental updates. But all of this is good news in the minds of its Origin-using subscribers who will want to check out the trailer demoing the SWTOR 1.2 updates in video form below. After all, a subscription to SWTOR costs $14.99 a month (if you're using the monthly plan here in the U.S.), so the more SWTOR updates Bioware provides the better.
What can you expect from this Game Update 1.2 when its April release date rolls around? The УExplosive ConflictФ Operation, new Flashpoint УLost IslandФ and Warzone УNovare CoastФ for starters. SWTOR players will also be treated to the next evolution of the Legacy system, PvP Warzone ranking, UI Customization and Guild Banks.
There's one SWTOR perk that you don't have to wait for the Game Update 1.2 release date for: a free trial membership. Bioware is allowing you to bring a friend into the galaxy with what the developer is calling the УFriends Trial ProgramФ starting today. This means that current SWTOR subscribers can invite their friends who haven't played the game and don't have an active, inactive or former SWTOR game account. Free access to the game only lasts for seven days, but your friend is free to reach level 15 across all eight classes. After that, they have to pony up for the subscription fee and the price of SWTOR, but not in full. Free trial members will Уget a limited time offer to buy the digital version of Star Wars: The Old Republic on Origin.com at a special promotion price.Ф Curious I am.
SWTOR Game Update 1.2 comes out sometime in April, so as that release date approaches, check back with GamingTarget for our thoughts on the new operation, flashpoint and warzone. We'll be locked and loaded with the download once it goes live on the Origin servers.
