Borderlands 2 News: Can't wait to see Borderlands 2 at PAX Prime? Gamescom 2011 has your first trailer of the cel-shaded FPS sequel. It's short, but sweet.

Borderlands 2 Gamescom 2011 trailer video is below

Borderlands 2's big unveiling is at PAX Prime 2011 next week, but the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game is being shown a little bit early in world premier video form to coincide with the ongoing Gamescom 2011 expo in Germany. More than 5,000 miles away from PAX's Seattle location, 2K Games and developer Gearbox Software have been showing off their unique first-person shooter, making us eager to check out more than just a short trailer.

By short, we mean less than 30 seconds long. This aptly named teaser trailer is only able to demo a dual-wielding Gunzerker executing a few threatening enemies. And when you think about it, the entire trailer is in slow motion. So we're only seeing about 15 seconds of real-time gameplay. We're hoping that next week's PAX Prime in Seattle provides us with a closer - and longer - look at this cel-shaded FPS sequel.

We're also hoping to see the end result sometime next year because Borderlands 2 currently has a fiscal year 2012 release date. That means that the game will launch anywhere from April 2012 to April 2013, according to parent company Take-Two Interactive's corporate earnings schedule. Let's hope it's the former April rather than the latter.
