News: EDF! EDF! EDF!

In preparation for the Spring 2011 release of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, D3 Publisher has announced that Earth Defense Force 2017 is now available to download from Xbox Live Games on Demand.

For just $19.99, players will be able to experience one of the greatest games the Xbox 360 has to offer (before you ask, I'm not joking).

Don't believe me, here's what EDF 2017 is all about in case you missed it the first time around:

In Earth Defense Force 2017, planet Earth is under attack from an onslaught of alien insect invaders ranging from giant ants and spiders to robots and monsters and the Earth Defense Force (EDF) is mankind's only chance for survival. The game features more than 50 missions, with wholly destructible environments including bridges, skyscrapers and more that can be leveled instantly. The arcade-style third-person shooter equips players with an arsenal of over 150 weapons, vehicles and loyal teammates where players can fight alone or with a friend in local split-screen co-op to save the world even if it means demolishing it in the process.
