News: But do you think people want a remake? I'm not sure if Halo's popular any more.

File this one under "duh, "CVG is reporting that Microsoft might be working on a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved.

CVG's sister magazine, GamesMaster, cited "industry chatter" that the publisher's newly formed 343 Industries was developing the remake alongside a full-fledged sequel to Halo 3. The currently untitled Halo 4 was pegged as a Fall 2012 release while the Halo remake would be released ahead of it.

2011 would be a great time for a Halo remake as it marks the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking game. It would also give the green 343 Industries a trial run in the Halo universe before they begin work on the eagerly awaited Halo 4.

At the very least, Microsoft's UK Head of Gaming, Stephen McGill, thinks a Halo remake is a good idea: "I think some people want to go back to older games and see them revisited and I think a lot of developers want to see that too."

It sounds like a good idea to us too. We'll have more soon.
