Google Translate) that the company will reveal the release date and price of the 3DS on September 29.
That short statement is not the only bit of 3DS news to emerge from Nintendo's headquarters. The company added the handheld to the Launch Schedule calendar they release quarterly with every financial statement. This calendar reconfirmed that Nintendo plans to release the 3DS sometime during the company's current fiscal year (which ends March 31, 2011).
Of course, this informationonly ensures that the 3DS will be released sometime in the six month window between September 30, 2010 and March 31, 2011.
My money's on a 2011 release, but I hope I'm wrong.
