In addition to Hulu Plus, another streaming media provider announced they would begun offering their product through the PlayStation 3 (and Xbox 360) yesterday.
Jamcast will stream Pandora, Spotify and your MP3 collection to your game console as well as other DLNA and UPnP-compliant devices. A 14-day trial is available and a complete software license can be purchased for $29.99.
Jamcast, which was created by Software Development Solutions, makes use of a "Virtual Soundcard" feature to capture any audio from a PC and transmit it wirelessly to any supported device.
You can get a look at Jamcast in action with this YouTube video created by one of the program's beta users:
"Jamcast has really caught the attention of consumers looking to enjoy their favorite music from popular streaming services like Pandora and Spotify away from their PC, in the living room or elsewhere," said SDS CEO Scott Streaker. УJamcast's Virtual Soundcard makes this easy when no solution from the device manufacturer or content provider is otherwise available," he added.
Between Hulu Plus, PlayOn's June sale and now Jamcast... let the streaming wars begin!
