News: Well this is interesting.
The Facebook page of former Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West received a very interesting status yesterday:
big time announcement at E3 next week. stay tuned, kiddies!
After the fallout from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 lawsuit, Zampella and West left Infinity Ward to form Respawn Entertainment. The pair then announced a development deal with EA Partners, ensuring that all future games they develop star creator-owned.
It's great that the pair is moving out from under Activision's shadow, but the question remains, what could this announcement be? Respawn was only formed in April and is currently recruiting developers for their secret project. We may get a title and a general concept and nothing more.
But we'll find out for sure during the E3 Expo next week.
UPDATE: EA has told IGN that they will not have an announcement related to Respawn Entertainment next week. Chalk this one up to a hoax.
