Left 4 Dead

News: Who's going to die? Your guess is as good as ours.

Valve will make "The Passing", the first expansion for Left 4 Dead 2, available to download on the PC and Xbox 360 tomorrow. In anticipation of the meeting between the L4D2 survivors and those from the first game, Valve has released five different posters for the campaign:

  • The Passing (Variation 1)
  • The Passing (Variation 2)
  • The Passing (Variation 3)
  • The Passing (Variation 4)
  • The Passing (Variation 5)

So why the sudden "collect 'em all" mentality from Valve? It's because one of the survivors from the original Left 4 Dead will meet their maker in "The Passing." And each poster variation showcases a different combination of survivors from the first game in silhouette in the background (the fifth shows all four alive and well).

Not only does a beloved character not make it out of "The Passing" alive, but the campaign also adds a new type of infected, the Fallen Survivor. So it's possible Francis, Bill, Zoey or Louis will make an appearance in the DLC as one of the walking undead after they shuffle off this mortal coil.

"The Passing" will be available to download tomorrow on the PC through Steam for free and on the Xbox 360 through the XBL Marketplace for 560 Microsoft Points ($7).

    We'll have more soon.
