Final Glimpse: Oh great, even the American Sega development team is weird!

Floigan Brothers is being developed for Sega's Dreamcast by none other than Visual Concepts, the American development house that produces most of the amazing Sega Sports titles we've all come to know and love. This means we can expect a large amount of attention to be spent on the details of the game, a feature that Sega Sports titles have enjoyed recently.

However, Floigan Brothers isn't another sports game. Its, well, its several things. It's a junkyard based cartoon sim with action/adventure roots, but in a way, it's a puzzle game at heart. Players will control Hoigle, who in turn, is attempting to control his brother, Moigle to do what he wants. The brother's junkyard is smack dab in the middle of an oil dispute, and the Floigan Brothers are trying to keep their land away from the (naturally evil) developer. Further complicating the plot is the secret project that is being worked on. Alas, Moigle has lost a few of the parts throughout the junkyard. These, of course, will have to be recovered. The Floigan Brother's junkyard has several distinct and unique areas within it. While searching through these large areas, players will need to keep an eye out for the mercenary cats who are trying to thwart the brother's search.

There will be a tutorial mode to help you get used to the cartoon world these characters inhabit, as well as learning how to controlling Moigle through Hoigle. You see, at heart, Moigle is a gentle (but dumb) giant. Players, as Hoigle, will coax, enrage, or otherwise provoke Moigle to perform a series of tasks that you in your short stature couldn't otherwise do yourself. Except, Moigle won't do just anything and for no reason. Each situation will differ slightly from the other, and the solution to it will be different each time, and if you get Moigle too upset, he won't do anything for you.

Mini games are abounding in Floigan Brothers. Activities such as hide-and-seek and tag not only serve to break the monotony of working in a junkyard day in and day out, but help Moigle become more, well, pliable to Hoigle's requests. There will be other mini games as well, some that involve the two brothers working together to reach a common goal, which will give you good practice for the real thing. Moigle will also have an ingeniously designed AI, so you can expect one of the finest and most realistic cartoon characters around. Expect each reaction to be over the top.

Final Thoughts
With the cartoony look and feel, this might be some of the best-animated slapstick to come along since Yakko, Wakko and Dot. Currently billed as Floigan Brothers Episode One, the title eludes to possible sequels down the line, time (and the sales chart) will ultimately tell. If you are one of those gamers that likes a good time, then you already have a Dreamcast. If your gaming sensibilities aren't easily offended and you have a large sense of humor, then I would highly recommend getting this game when it reaches release.
