News: Mickey goes darker and edgier next Fall.

Aside from the Kingdom Hearts series Disney's iconic mascot, Mickey Mouse, has not had much of a presence in video games in recent years. That is all about to change next Fall when Disney Interactive and developer Junction Point unleash Epic Mickey on the Wii.

Revealed today on Game Informer's website, the game will make it's debut in the November issue of the magazine, which will hit newsstands on October 12.

As you can see, the rumors are most definitely true. The game will depict a darker and edgier vision of Mickey as seen in the magazine's cover above as he fights an oily villain with a paintbrush. This is in line with the popular rumor that says the game's storyline will involve Mickey battling some of Disney's forgotten creations that have not been seen since the days of the company's black-and-white animated shorts.

In addition to the print coverage of the game, Game Informer will supplement it with news, screenshots and video on their Epic Mickey supersite. The section will launch today (at 5 PM eastern time) with an exclusive interview with Epic Mickey's director, Warren Spector. Additional content will be uploaded on October 9th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 23rd, 26th and 28th.

We will definitely have more on this one soon.
