E3 09: Left 4 Dead 2 infects the PC, Xbox 360 on November 17 @ Gaming Target

News: I'm guessing Right 5 Alive was never in the running as a title.

Announced at Microsoft's E3 2009 Press Conference yesterday, Left 4 Dead 2 will be coming to the PC and Xbox 360 on November 17. The game will offer new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons and items along with a bigger overall game world. Along with that bigger game world comes more cooperative campaigns, more Versus campaigns and maps for Survival mode available at launch.

Players will have to traverse the distance between Savannah, Georgia and New Orleans, Louisiana if they hope to survive Left 4 Dead 2. To help with that, the Survivors will now have the option to use melee weapons like frying pans (not bad), baseball bats (OK), axes (better) and chainsaws (oh yeah, you can call me Ash).

But with increased firepower on the Survivor side comes increased thinking power on the Infected side as Valve is enhancing and upgrading the AI Director:

Introducing the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.
