News: 210 Stores opened in Q1 2008.



The gaming retail giant is at it again. In the first financial quarter, GameStop opened up 210 stores worldwide for a total of 5,400 stores worldwide and on top of that; they plan to open up to 600 more by year's end.

The company also saw increased earnings in the 151 percentile for a dollar total in the $62 million. Sales also grew 41 percent for $1,813 million. Of the sales increase, the company noted that new game sales were up 72 percent thanks to the insanely well selling - Grand Theft Auto IV.

The top five best sellers for GameStop during the Q1 success are:

1. Grand Theft Auto IV (Take-Two)
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo)
3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
4. Rainbow Six: Vegas 2(Ubisoft)
5. Army Of Two (Electronic Arts)
