News: Gotta catch 'em all. Now on the DS.

Nintendo has announced that Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will be released on April 22. The next edition of the world famous Pokemon series will be the first to appear on the DS and will offer local wireless games with up to eight players.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will bring plenty of familiarity, but also plenty of new adventures to the Pokemon world. According to Nintendo:

Set in an entirely new region called "Sinnoh," players can choose to begin their adventure as either a boy or girl Pokщmon trainer on a path to becoming Pokщmon League Champion. The adventure continues as players can bring Pokщmon from their Game Boy Advance Pokщmon games to Pokщmon Diamond and Pokщmon Pearl using the GBA game slot on their Nintendo DS.

As players trade and collect Pokщmon to complete their Pokщdex in this new challenge, for the first time they'll have the chance to catch new Pokщmon, Munchlax and Weavile.

We'll have more on the future of Pokemon very soon.
