News: A million gamers cried out and then purchased Lego Star Wars II.

LucasArts sends word that Lego Star Wars II (after being on the shelf for a week) has already sold 1.1 million copies across all platforms.

УThere's definitely something for everyone in Lego Star Wars II, and the sales and reviews so far are proving it,Ф said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. УThis is the type of fun, accessible game everyone in the family can enjoy. It appeals to so much more than just the traditional gaming audience.Ф

Released for the PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Xbox, GameCube, PC, DS and GBA, executives at Travellers Tales have stated Lego Star Wars II will not be the last Lego-ized rendition of popular franchise. Rumors peg Lego Batman as the next game in the series with Lego Spider-Man rumored for the future.

As always, we'll have more on all things Lego and Star Wars soon. What kind of geeks would we be if we didn't?
