News: I am the Knight! I am a new Batman game!

EA, Warner Brothers, and DC Comics have announced that work has begun on games based on next summer's Batman Begins. The high profile reboot of the Batman franchise starring Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Katie Holmes and many others will hit theaters on June 17, 2005, the same day the game will hit stores.

Eurocom has been handed the development reins for the PS2, Xbox and GameCube editions and Vicarious Visions will work on the Game Boy Advance and PSP versions. There was no word on a DS version.

There was also no word on any real details for the games. A lot of talking points about the entertianment event of the Summer, but no discussion of the gameplay.

"Batman Begins is the darker depiction of Batman that we've all been waiting for, and we are teaming with EA to bring players an edgy, action game that captures this tale," said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "Co-publishing Batman Begins allows Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to continue its involvement in the development and marketing of quality games based on Warner Bros. properties."

We'll keep you posted as more develops.
