Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Operation Dark Water Campaign Mission Revealed

News: Infinity Ward introduced us to one of the missions you will go through in the campaign for Modern Warfare II.

During the Summer Game Fest Infinity Ward was there showing off one of the missions for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. In the mission that we were shown Task 141 has found some intel that shows there are some missiles hidden on an offshore platform. A team of Soap, Ghost, and Mexican Special Forces Operator Alejandro have been tasked with preventing the missiles from being launched.

One thing that I am really enjoying as more content is shown from this game is how they have reimagined the original Modern Warfare trilogy. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is probably my favorite FPS of all time and as such, I have played it a lot. The location of Operation Dark Water (the mission in the video) is reminiscent of the opening mission in the original Modern Warfare. There are obviously some big differences but with both of them taking place on a ship in the middle of the sea and the fact that there was some important intel in both means the stakes are astronomical in both.

Of course the original was released in 2007 and this one will be released in 2022 so there are some big differences in what can be done. The shifting cover is one such thing I noticed that should introduce a new layer of challenge. Just because you find something that you can take cover behind doesn’t mean it will always be there for you. This can also work to your advantage as the enemy will have the same problem, which you can definitely use to your advantage.
