News: The annual baseball title from San Diego Studio is almost here but this year you can also play it on the Nintendo Switch.

MLB The Show 22 is only a few months away. With that being the case details are starting to be revealed, including the identity of the cover athlete. The unanimous American League MVP who will be the cover athlete for the MLB The Show 22 is Shohei Ohtani. Coming off a season for the record books, Ohtani hit 46 home runs, netted 100 RBIs, stole 23 bases while having a 9-2 record on the mound with a 3.18 ERA and 156 strikeouts.

For the second year in a row, MLB The Show is expanding to a new platform and will give fans a new way to play. MLB The Show 22 will be available on Nintendo Switch for the first time, adding to the console lineup on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

In addition to revealing the cover athlete, they have announced that MLB The Show 22 launches on April 5th, 2022. The standard edition on last-gen consoles is $59.99 USD MSRP. The Standard edition on current-gen consoles is $69.99 USD MSRP. The standard edition on Nintendo Switch is $59.99 USD MSRP. On February 2 they will have more news to share about the Collector’s Edition that includes dual entitlement.

If you are an Xbox gamer and have Game Pass there is good news for you as well as MLB The Show 22 will once again be a day one Game Pass title. There will be cross-platform play and progress where you can play against others online, and earn and use content across the platform and generation you choose. This cross-platform play will include the Nintendo Switch version as well. So, for example, Game Pass members can play online with the Xbox version against someone else who is playing the Nintendo Switch version.

MLB The Show 22 will also allow you to move from platform to platform easily. All you have to do is create your account on TheShow.com, link your platform of choice, and then you are good to go.
