News: We get a small glimpse at one of the campaign missions that you will have to go through when the game launches this holiday season.

Call of Duty Vanguard

With Gamescom taking place right now, a lot of information is coming out about different titles with one of them being Call of Duty: Vanguard. We were given a first look at some of the campaign with some gameplay from the “Stalingrad Summer” mission. This mission is based on the initial invasion of the city through the eyes of Polina. We see her family, home, and life destroyed before her very eyes which becomes the catalyst to her becoming a deadly sniper that will do what she can to defend her home.

“Players will experience the city before it was invaded in the summer of 1942,” Swenson said of the missions that take place on the Eastern Front, “giving players the chance to see and feel the beautiful city, in the summertime, untouched by war. Players will also experience the city near the end of the 6-month battle, in the winter of 1943. Here, players will be able to fight on the snowy landscape of the Russian winter that was so iconic in WWII.”

As you will see in the video, Polina eliminates a hostile search crew, saves some hostages, and then makes her way back to her apartment via the rooftops. It is there where she comes across the three-line Sniper Rifle she calls Requiem. There is more that I won’t spoil but she eventually gets knocked unconscious by an unseen enemy.

This is just a small portion of the mission and afterward you get to see a 30,000 foot view of the other three fronts you have to win through the games campaign. This includes airdropping over France to dogfighting over the Midway Islands and going through forces in North Africa.

Check out the video below and tell us what you think. Will you be picking up Call of Duty: Vanguard when it is released on November 5th?
