Fall Guys Sells Over Seven Million Units on Steam in Less Than Three Weeks

News: The popularity of Fall Guys continues to grow whether you are playing it on Steam or watching it on Twitch.

Fall Guys has taken the world by storm since its release. It was available as a free game if you are a PlayStation Plus member but if you want the Steam version you had to buy it. It has been revealed that PC gamers did just that with Fall Guys selling more than seven million units in less than three weeks on Steam. Fall Guys falls under the “Battle Royale” genre but is different than anything you have seen. Fall Guys has also been one of the most popular games to stream on Twitch since it’s release last month.

For those who might not be familiar with the Battle Royale concept, it is essentially a large group of people all trying to be the last man standing at the end of the match. Two of the most popular examples are Fortnite and Warzone in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). Fall Guys differs from titles such as that with a family friendly spin on things that makes it so everyone can play and enjoy it. In Fall Guys there are up to 60 online players in a game and everyone is trying to finish an obstacle course where only a certain number of people qualify for each level of the course. So, for example, in round one you might start with 60 people but only 35 can qualify for the next level. With that being the case everyone is trying to rush through the course, while at the same time potentially trying to slow down their opposition.

The obstacle course in Fall Guys resembles a combination of two popular television shows, Wipeout and Takeshi’s Castle. In the game players are represented by little animated avatars that they can customize to their liking. This has helped make the game more appealing to casual and hardcore gamers alike.

If you are someone that doesn’t play a lot of games Fall Guys is something that can be a lot of fun to watch as well, as evidenced by its popularity on streaming services like Twitch. In addition to this major milestone on Steam, Sony has also revealed that Fall Guys set the record for the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time.
