Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Now Available On PS4

News: Relive 2009’s blockbuster Call of Duty campaign with improvements including 4K, HDR support, remastered audio, and more.

It has been heavily rumored for a number of years but it is now official: Activision has released a remastered version of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign. It is only the campaign from Modern Warfare 2 as opposed to the whole package but rumors have also suggested that some of the Modern Warfare 2 maps will find their way into the 2019 edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign remaster includes the full campaign (including “No Russian”) with high-definition visuals up to 4K and HDR support on consoles, and uncapped framerate as well as ultrawide monitor support on PC.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign remaster features improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and more. The original was developed by Infinity Ward and released in 2009 with this new remaster being done by Beenox, another studio that Activision frequently uses to help create and maintain the Call of Duty franchise.

“Modern Warfare 2 campaign was incredible. We all remember the lasting impression the story left upon us. This campaign was very special and we thank Infinity Ward for creating such an amazing experience,” said Thomas Wilson, co-studio head, Beenox. “Restoring and remastering this campaign for a new generation of players was a labor of love for our team. We wanted to make sure that the feelings and power of the story was accurately represented with full high-definition visuals and the latest audio fidelity.”

Players who purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will receive the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) including the UDT Ghost Operator skin inspired by the “The Only Easy Day...Was Yesterday” campaign level that featured a hostage rescue attempt from an oil rig in the arctic. In addition to the Ghost Operator skin, you will also receive two weapon blueprints, a weapon charm, new finishing move, voice quip, animated calling card, emblem, and two Battle Pass tier skips for all immediate access in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and the recently released Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is available on the PlayStation 4 right now, with other platforms getting it on April 30th. It is available for $19.99. Those who pre-order this game on other platforms will receive the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle with the UDT Ghost Operator skin instantly for play.
