News: You will have to wait a little while longer for your Keanu Reeves gaming fix but it should result in an even better experience.

Cyberpunk 2077 needs some more development time and has been delayed for a few more months. It was scheduled to be released in April, however, now it will be released on September 20, 2020. This date is interesting as it is really close to the launch of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 (which I am guessing will release in November). I am excited to try out Cyberpunk 2077 but due to the proximity of its new release date with the new console, I will most likely wait a couple of months and play it on my Xbox Series X.

For those who might not have followed the development of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red describes it below:

”Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open-world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. The game follows the story of V, a hired gun on the rise in a world of cyber-enhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers. Featuring CD Projekt Red’s hallmark concept of choices and consequences, players will face difficult decisions that ripple through the entire game. Winner of over 100 awards at E3 2018, Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the universe of the classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.”

This is obviously disappointing news for fans excited to jump into CD Projekt Red’s next adventure, however, a delay almost always results in a better game. It is better to delay a game a few months than to release something that isn’t completely finished and wait for a number of different patches to be released over the coming months. Especially with a game as complex as Cyberpunk 2077 which has many different endings.

Check out their statement below and then tell us what you think. Are you going to play Cyberpunk 2077 at launch or will you wait to play it on the next generation of consoles?
