Microsoft held its X019 event in London today and it turned out to be a big show for Square Enix fans. Not only was it revealed that the Kingdom Hearts franchise in its entirety will be available on Xbox One in 2020, but a plethora of Final Fantasy titles will arrive in Game Pass in 2020 as well for both Xbox One and PC.
Shinji Hashimoto, Final Fantasy Brand Manager, took to the stage at the event to announce that starting in 2020 the following critically acclaimed titles from the Final Fantasy series will become available for all players with a current membership to Xbox Game Pass, bringing worlds of fantasy and adventure to new players around the globe:
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XV
Conspicuous by their absence is Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV, both popular MMORPGs. Final Fantasy XI was on the Xbox 360, however, never made it over to the Xbox One. Final Fantasy XIV hasn’t been on Xbox One either, however, Phil Spencer spoke with media and revealed they are working to get it on Xbox One, they just don’t have a date yet. Final Fantasy XIV will most likely not be a part of the Game Pass program though as it requires a monthly fee.
