News: We have finally learned some details about the anticipated return of Special Ops in this new entry to the Modern Warfare series.

”Call

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to be released in approximately two weeks. Activision has just released a new trailer to show off the final mode in the game, Special Ops. Anyone who has played the original Modern Warfare trilogy is aware of the Spec Ops mode and how much fun it was to play. It should be noted that Special Ops will be available on all platforms at launch. There is a tiny section within Special Ops that is going to be PS4 exclusive for a year, however, the actual mode itself will be available for everyone at launch.

Special Ops has been reimagined for this new entry into the Modern Warfare franchise. It is a collection of expansive, interconnected operations against a brand new threat. You can team up with up to three other people for four-player co-op to execute multi-phased objectives. This will help to advance the overarching story of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The premise of the story you will find in Special Ops is below:

”A greater evil has taken over the Eastern Hemisphere, and it is up to the global alliance Armistice, a joint force of Allegiance and Coalition operators led by Kate Laswell (CIA) and Sergeant Kamarov (FSB), to stop and sever a global terror organization’s access to weapons, funds, intelligence, and hardware.”

Activision has also revealed that the majority of the killstreaks you find in the multiplayer mode will also be in Special Ops. These include (but not limited to) airstrikes and UAVs. You will also have a choice in how you handle certain situations. You can run into a situation with guns blazing and try to wipe out the enemy quickly or take a more measured approach and attempt to take them out before they know you are there. Your choices will impact enemy behavior and what type of enemies you might potentially fight. These Operations in Special Ops will carry over your operators, load-outs, and progress from multiplayer. You can use your favorite equipment and just have fun wreaking havoc with friends.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to be released on October 25 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Check out the new Special Ops trailer below and tell us what you think. Will you be picking up this new entry in the Call of Duty franchise?
