Ghost Recon Breakpoint Revealed by Ubisoft Will Be Released in October

News: A new Ghost Recon came is coming this year with some new features and mechanics that should make it the most challenging yet.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint has just been revealed by Ubisoft. In addition to a gameplay demonstration to really show off some of what we can expect there is also the official trailer to check out as well (both can be seen below). Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set in the South Pacific in the remote Auroa Archipelago. This is a landscape that offers it all from snowy peaks to lush rainforests to desert and more.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint can be played either solo or with a group of up to four friends. Based off of what has been shown so far though you are definitely going to want to get a group of friends together. The enemy AI is much smarter this time around and injuries have been reintroduced in this game. What means is that it is possible for your character to get seriously injured. If his leg gets injured, for example, he might start limping along which means you need to change your strategy. He might fire his gun different due to the injury, he might not be able to take cover as easily, if the enemy is chasing you it might be easier for them to catch you and things like that.

Auroa is the home to Skell Technologies and features 11 unique biomes (aforementioned rainforest as an example). The environment in this game will at times be your enemy while at other times you can use it as an ally. You can try and disappear into the jungle canopy and try to take out your enemy before they know you are ever there. Be careful of what you leave behind though. If you kill someone and just leave the body there chances are other enemy soldiers might find the body and come after you. You can pick up bodies and hide them to cover your tracks and make sure they aren’t discovered so you are going to juggle that decision of what you want to do, sometimes in the heat of battle. You can traverse the game on land, sea, and air which means you can approach any given situation a number of different ways. If you are playing with friends you can coordinate your attack with them as you approach a situation from different sides to try and make sure everything is covered before the fireworks start.

The main enemy in Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a group that calls themselves The Wolves, former Ghosts who have betrayed their country. They are lead by Colonel Cole D. Walker and have taken over Auroa for a reason not yet known to the Ghosts. The Wolves have control to the powerful drone technology that Skell Technologies has developed, among other things. Taking them down is not going to be an easy thing to do.

There will be a beta available that you can register for and hope you get selected. There is also a guaranteed way of getting into the beta and that is by pre-ordering Ghost Recon Breakpoint. At the time of this article being posted there was no other pricing announced for these different editions. The standard edition will obviously cost $59.99 but we aren’t sure about the other ones. The pricing for the Gold Edition came from Amazon. It should also be noted for PC gamers that on the Ghost Recon website on their pre-order page it only has the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store listed. Steam is nowhere to be found so this might be an Epic Games Store exclusive, however, we don’t know for sure at this point.
