Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was just revealed by Microsoft during the most recent episode of Inside Xbox. Xbox Game Pas Ultimate is Microsoft combining Xbox Live Gold an Xbox Game Pass into one bundle so you only have to worry about one subscription instead of two. It should be quickly noted that if you want to keep these subscriptions separate you will be able to do that. This is simply for those who only want to have to deal with one subscription.
This new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate bundle will cost you $14.99 per month, which means it will cost approximately $180 per year. Xbox Live Gold currently costs $60 per year, while Game Pass by itself costs $120 per year. So as you can see, the bundle will cost the same as if you buy the two services separately. It is simply about convenience and again, some people just wanting everything in one package. Please also keep in mind that those are the retail prices for these services. Game Pass itself frequently goes on sale and to a lesser extent, so does Xbox Live Gold. Personally speaking, I bought two years of Game Pass during E3 2018 for the price of one year and I am looking to do that again if Microsoft has a similar sale during E3 week.
Microsoft also revealed that they will be inviting a small group of Xbox Insider community members (previously known as the preview program) to test out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate won’t launch until later this year but in the meantime, a select group of people will get to beta test it and submit feedback to that it (hopefully) runs flawlessly once it is released to everyone.
What do you think about Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? Is this something that you are interested in or will you choose to keep the two subscriptions separate? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
