News: New Pokemon games are hitting the Switch this fall and it appears like it will interact with Pokemon Go.

Nintendo has just revealed Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu for the Switch. Both will be released this November and both will talk with Pokemon Go. As the names suggest Pikachu will accompany the player in Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee will accompany the player in Let’s Go Eevee. Judging by the trailer below catching Pokemon in this game will be done similar to how it is done in Pokemon Go. You only need one Joycon to play this game on the Switch and with the flick of your wrist you can catch a Pokemon, a concept similar to how you have to swipe up to throw a Pokeball in Pokemon Go.

These Pokemon games are the first to hit the Nintendo Switch. It has a local co-op mechanic so you can play with friends (each of you can use one of the Joycons) and it appears like it will talk to your smartphone and Pokemon Go. It looks like you will also be able to send gifts to friends. There is also a Pokeball accessory that you can use to play the game. That white center of a Pokeball has been turned into an analog stick that you can use to play the game. Additionally it appears that you will be able to take Pikachu (or Eevee) with you in that Pokeball. In the trailer they show somebody with their Pokeball at a restaurant and you can hear Pikachu making sounds and it looks like you can even “pet” it and Pikachu will respond by saying “Pikaaaa….”.

The trailer also teases additional functionality between Pokemon Go and Pokemon Go Pikachu/Eevee by being able to send friends gifts back and forth and also capturing a Pokemon in Pokemon Go and then being able to use it in a park on your Switch. There really isn’t a whole lot of other information right now so be sure to check back as more details emerge. Until then though, check out the trailer below and tell us what you think.

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee will be released on November 16, 2018. Will you be picking it up?
