The Destiny 2 closed beta is now up and running for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers. If you have pre-ordered the game then you should have received a code for the beta. Redeem that on Bungie’s site and tell them which platform you want to play on and then you will get a code for the console you selected and once you download it you will be good to go. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game the beta will open up to everybody beginning on July 21 and will until July 23.

The Destiny 2 beta is going to give you a small glimpse into a few of the different things you will experience when Destiny 2 when it launches in September. There will be one campaign mission, one Cooperative strike and then the Crucible. The details for each are below:

  • Campaign - The campaign mission that you will have access to is titled “Homecoming”. You will have to respond to an emergency distress call from the last safe city on Earth.

  • Cooperative Strike - You will have to infiltrate an enemy stronghold alongside two other Guardians to take down all of the enemies. You can play alongside your friends or participate in matchmaking with some random players. The strike is called “The Inverted Spire” where the Cabal have awoken something deep beneath the surface of Nessus.

  • Competitive Multiplayer: The Crucible - This is where you can put your skills to the test against others in a 4 vs. 4 match. During the beta you will have access to “Countdown” which is live fire Crucible training with captured Cabal explosives. You will have to either plant or defuse the bomb and teams will switch sides after each round. The first team to reach six points will be the winners.
