News: Bethesda has revealed that the PS4 versions of Fallout 4 and Skyrim will get some mod support as well as 4K support for the PS Pro.

”The

A little while ago Bethesda revealed that mods would not be coming to Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion Special Edition on PS4. Earlier today they gave us an update that said they worked it out with Sony and mods will in fact be on the PS4 but in a limited capacity. The mods available on the PlayStation 4 version will allow you to modify and create your own content by using their creation kit. Unfortunately you will not be able to upload external assets with your PS4 mods but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game. This caveat is apparently the compromise that Sony worked out with Bethesda. The Xbox One version on the other hand should have full mod support and of course the PC does as well.

In addition to the announcement about limited mod support, Bethesda also revealed that Fallout 4 and Skyrim will render in native 4K on the PlayStation Pro when the console launches next month. This could be another reason to pick up a PlayStation Pro if you have been on the fence as both Fallout 4 and Skyrim will no doubt look stunning in all its native 4K glory.

What do you think about these two announcements from Bethesda? Do you like the compromises made with the mod announcement or will you play these games on another platform? Tell us what you think below.
