News: Microsoft has started rolling out a new update to preview program members which will include clubs, an easy way to look for groups and more.

Microsoft has revealed that preview program members on Xbox One will be receiving a new update beginning today. The Xbox One just recently received a major update a few weeks ago and now preview program members are going to begin testing new features that will be released later this year. These new features include Clubs on Xbox Live, Looking for Group (LFG) on Xbox Live, changes in the Gamerscore Leaderboard and the ability to have send emojis using your virtual Xbox One keyboard. There should be some more stuff as well as we get closer to the public release but until now these are the new features we’ll focus on.

Clubs on Xbox Live will be groups created by gamers that will help you meet people and help grow your communities. Gaming Target, for example, will have a club on Xbox Live where our readers can go and hang out and play games together. Anyone can join or create a club and there will be a variety of privacy settings in case you want an open club or you can a private one that no one knows about except the members. When you are part of a club you will be able to play games, set up parties, share content and easily communicate with each other. If you are one of the admins for a club you will have the tools necessary to ensure your club runs smoothly. If there is someone in your club being abusive or swearing a lot in a club that is supposed to be family friendly then you can kick them out, for example. It should be noted that clubs are like gamertags...once the name is gone then it is gone. If you are in the preview program be sure to create your club before the name you want disappears and then if you are in the general public be sure to create it when this feature becomes available later this year.

Another new feature is the Looking for Group (LFG) feature. Think of this feature as posting an ad. Say, for example, you want to do a legendary co-op run on Halo 5: Guardians but none of your friends are available right now. You can post an “ad” saying that you are looking for three other players that want to do a legendary co-op run on Halo 5. You can specify what you are looking for such as requiring mics, no cursing, trying to keep it kid friendly and many other options. This also works on Windows 10 with any game that has a Game Hub.

Some changes to the Gamerscore leaderboard have also been added which will now reset at the end of each month instead of a rolling 30 day period. Emojis will also be available to send your friends in messages using the Xbox One virtual keyboard.

Check out the video below that Microsoft revealed talking about these new changes and tell us what you think.
