King of Fighters XIV Demo Now Available on PlayStation 4

News: If you want to get a sense of what you can expect once King of Fighters XIV launches you can now download the demo and try it for yourself.

The demo for The King of Fighters XIV is now available to download on PS4. Although the demo doesn't have online functionality, players will be able to practice local versus with seven characters (Kyo Kusanagi, Mai Shiranui, Iori Yagami, Sylvie Paula Paula, King of Dinosaurs, Shun'ei, and Nelson). Oh, and the demo will come with a free dynamic PS4 theme.

To help celebrate the occasion a new trailer has also been released. Team China is comprised of the great master Tung Fu Rue and his two new students: the headphone rocking scene kid Shun'ei and the sleep loving Meitenkun. Tung Fu Rue has a lot of history with some members of the other team, but he wants his new disciples to prove themselves during this tournament.

Tung Fu Rue is a grand master of the Hakkyokuseiken fighting style who has taught many famous students over the years including: Terry Bogard, Geese Howard, and more. Although he may look like a little old man, Tung's mastery of Chi is second to none and his years of fighting experience is what makes him one of the most dangerous fighters in KOF. The old grand master is a calm and kind master who seeks to bring out the best in his two new students in the tournament. Shun'ei is a powerful prodigy who was abandoned by his birth parents for possessing mysterious powers. Tung adopted, trained, and raised him like a son, teaching him the ways of Hakkyokuseiken. As a result, Shun'ei has learned to control his powers and enters the tournament to prove himself. On the other hand, Meitenkun, Shun'ei's best friend and training partner, has a more... sleepy personality. And by sleepy personality, I mean he literally carries around a pillow everywhere because he really likes his sleep. Don't be fooled by his lethargic nature though, because Meitenkun fights with an unpredictable sleep boxing style that catches opponents off guard.

The game will be $59.99/CA$79.99 at launch. Pre-orders and a limited number of launch editions will arrive in a special SteelBook case. Plus, for the week following launch, the Classic Kyo costume DLC will be free to all players. Check out the trailer as well as the free demo now available on PlayStation 4 and tell us what you think.
