Assassin’s Creed Unity as well as Assassin’s Creed Rogue haven’t even been out a month yet but it appears the next title in this popular franchise as already been leaked. According to Kotaku, next year’s version of Assassin’s Creed is currently titled, Assassin’s Creed Victory. The setting appears to be Victorian London and there appears to be some changes coming to the franchise. For starters there is a brand new studio working on this game and this looks like it will be for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This means that Assassin’s Creed Rogue is most likely the last Assassin’s Creed game you will see on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Kotaku claims to have seen footage of the game in action and talks about some of the changes they have noticed. One of the biggest potential challenges is the addition of a grappling hook. This could, theoretically, change how you traverse the environments in Assassin’s Creed. There also appear to be some fights that take place on moving vehicles, including at least one assassination.
Assassin’s Creed fans will remember that Assassin’s Creed Comet leaked earlier this year and that turned out to be what is now known as Assassin’s Creed Rogue. It appears the same thing is now happening with AC: Victory although we don’t know if that will remain the final name. This is still in the rumor category for now but given the fact that Kotaku has screenshots and has seen a video it looks very likely.
For their part, Ubisoft has just now released a statement (via PCGamer):
“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players.”
