News: Ubisoft has just revealed that Watch Dogs is off to an amazing start just 24 hours after it’s release.
Watch Dogs was released yesterday and Ubisoft is reporting that they sold more copies in its first 24 hours on the market than any previous title in the company’s history. In Watch Dogs, players enter the dangerous world of Aiden Pearce, a new class of anti-hero whose ability to hack into any connected system could be his most powerful weapon. Whether it’s triggering a 30-car pileup by manipulating traffic-lights to trap an enemy during a downtown shootout or tapping into the city’s omnipresent security cameras to access anyone’s personal information, Pearce is capable of coercing and controlling almost every element of the world around him.
Ubisoft’s co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot weighed in on Watch Dogs’ early success, saying, “Watch Dogs is an amazing achievement and our teams should be proud that the creativity, innovation and long hours they invested in making this game are paying off. It’s great to see so many players enjoying the game, and it shows that Watch Dogs has cracked the code for developing a new blockbuster IP and a thoroughly new-gen experience.”
