Xbox One News: Major Nelson finally tells us when we can get Xbox One in our living room later this year.
Xbox One’s release date has finally been revealed to be November 22 in all 13 of their initial markets - Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK and the United States.
Of course the date November 22 has a special place in Microsoft’s heart. November 22, 2005 is the day the Xbox 360 launched in the United States and Canada with other countries around the world soon to follow. The Xbox 360 launched with a 20 gig hard drive whereas the Xbox One will be launching with a 500gb hard drive with external hard drive support sometime in the future. The original Xbox was launched on November 15, 2001 which is obviously close to the November 22 date as well.
Xbox One was introduced to the world at an event held on Microsoft’s campus back on May 21. Since that initial unveiling there has been a lot of policy changes and even personnel changes with some of the upper management. The Xbox One is set to cost $499 and will feature HDMI pass-thru to the device as a cable box, 500gb of storage, Skype integration, a game DVR for recording gaming moments, a blu ray player and more. It will also include Kinect 2.0 which is vastly superior to the original Kinect.
Launch titles for the Xbox One include Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Watch Dogs, Need for Speed Rivals, Battlefield 4 and much more.
What do you think of the November 22 release date? The Xbox One will be coming out one week after the PlayStation 4 hits stores on November 15. Which system will you be picking up?
