News: Gamestop introduces a deal where you can get a minimum of $50 trade in credit when upgrading from Xbox 360 to Xbox One versions of games.
Xbox One is launching later this year with a big slate of both first and third party games. Some of those games will be launching on the Xbox 360 first though making gamers choose whether they buy the game when it is released or hold off until they have the Xbox One in their hands. Well, Gamestop is trying to make that decision easier for you.
Gamestop is offering PowerUp Rewards members a special, limited time opportunity to receive a $50 guaranteed minimum credit for select standard edition Xbox 360 titles when a member upgrades to the new Xbox One standard version of that game.
“This is an amazing opportunity for our PowerUp (PUR) members to enjoy their favorite Xbox 360 game until the Xbox One version becomes available,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop. “This offer gives PUR members the chance to upgrade their current Xbox 360 game for the new Xbox One standard version of that game for $9.99. This is a great example of how GameStop is helping gamers make the transition to the next generation of consoles economical and seamless.”
The eligible titles for this promotion include:
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Madden NFL 25
FIFA 14
Battlefield 4
Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag
To qualify for this offer, you must be a PowerUp Rewards member at the time you purchase a new eligible Xbox 360 game within 30 days of its initial release and then trade that game at any U.S. GameStop location for the new Xbox One standard version of that same game. Following the purchase of an eligible current generation title, members will receive the guaranteed $50.00 trade-credit coupon via email and in their PowerUp Rewards Active Offers. Redemption of the coupon must occur by December 31, 2013.
What do you think about this deal? Personally speaking I was going to wait until Xbox One to get Madden NFL 25 but now I am giving serious consideration to getting it on Xbox 360 and utilizing this deal. What game are you thinking about doing that with?
