News: This isn't a good sign...
IGN is reporting that LucasArts' Haden Blackman has resigned from the company. Blackman was responsible for many Star Wars game over the years including Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and its upcoming sequel.
In addition to his production work, Blackman's story treatments for both Force Unleashed games were used by the authors of the tie-in novels and comic books.
"I've had a fantastic time working with the team at Lucasfilm and am really grateful for their ongoing support. While the decision to leave LucasArts did not happen overnight or come easily, I really feel that now is the best time for me to move on and explore new creative challenges and I look forward to the next phase of my career," Blackman said in a statement.
According to IGN, a LucasArts representative has told them Blackman's resignation will not affect development of The Force Unleashed II. As he was the franchise's most vocal cheerleader, I hope that's true, but I fear for the worst. You might even say I have a bad feeling about this.
We'll all find out together on October 26 when Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is released for the DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360.
