News: Apparently "people" were concerned.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has told Forbes that the 3D features of Nintendo's upcoming 3DS handheld can be turned off.
Iwata acknowledged people were already worried about the possible health effects of 3-D gaming, such as on children's eyesight.
He promised it will be easy to turn off the 3-D function on the new machine, allowing people to play games, with or without 3-D.
OK, so now we know one more official piece of information concerning the 3DS. But the real question is, why would anyone think the 3D effects couldn't be turned off? That seems like it should be a pretty basic part of the system's functionality.
We'll find out more of what the 3DS can do next month at E3.
