News: Just in time for Woods' 2010 debut.
With Tiger returning to the links this weekend for The Masters, it's fitting that EA Sports has officially launched Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online. A golf game completely playable in a web browser, PGA Tour Online will offer both free-to-play and subscription options.
Players interested in a subscription to the EA Tiburon-developed golf game haev the option of paying $9.99 a month or $59.99 for a full year. Paid memberships will give users the option to play an unlimited number of rounds along with a points package that can be used on Pro Shop items. More points, which can also be used by free-to-play players to play additional rounds, can be purchased in bundles ranging from $9.99 to $39.99.
УConsumers have an increasing appetite for authentic gaming experiences online and EA Sports is driving innovation and growth in the online gaming category, from consoles to mobile devices and the web,Ф said EA Sports President Peter Moore. УThe launch of Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online signals a shift in the traditional distribution model and will change the way that people will be able to access and enjoy their favorite video games for years to come.Ф
Right now, gamers will be able to tee it up on ten of the world's most famous courses: Torrey Pines GC, Pebble Beach Golf Links, TPC Sawgrass, Sheshan Golf & CC, St Andrews (Old Course), Wolf Creek GC, Wentworth (West Course), Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Oakmont CC and Harbour Town Golf Links. According to EA, more courses will be added in the future.
We'll have more soon.
