Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff

Tecmo Bowl

Written by John Scalzo  on February 20, 2010

News: While still not official, Tecmo Bowl Throwback is definitely in development for PSN, XBLA.

Tecmo spokesmen have previously revealed that the company is hard at work on a downloadable version of Tecmo Bowl for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Even so, the publisher has yet to officially announce it. However, the ESRB has outed the game, titled Tecmo Bowl Throwback, by posting this Rating Summary of it on their website:

This is a top-down arcade-style football game in which players compete against teams around the country to become the "Tecmo Bowl Champion." Some of the football highlights are depicted in animated cutscenes (with better graphics); a few non-football highlights depict cheerleaders wearing low-cut tops while dancing. And a jumbotron screen displays a 2D swimsuit model with some exposed cleavage.

Yup, sounds like Tecmo Bowl to me. Hopefully Tecmo announces it soon and hopefully it shows up with a pricetag of 800 Microsoft Points ($10) or less.

We'll have more soon.
