News: NaturalMotion's Madden-killer gets a release date and new boxart.



505 Games has updated their website and revealed that Backbreaker will be released on May 18. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title will challenge the Madden NFL series as the only other football release this year.

Developed by NaturalMotion and using their Euphoria engine (also seen in Grand Theft Auto IV and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed), Backbreaker will break with the traditional canned animations found in most football games and instead use a physics-based tackling system. NaturalMotion is hoping this focus on realism will make up for the lack of the NFL license.
