News: Retooled sequel is finally ready for release.

Ubisoft has given Red Steel 2 a March 23 release date on the game's official website. The Wii-exclusive first person shooter/swordfighter has been in development a long time, almost since the first game in the series was released at the Wii's launch, and was originally scheduled to be released in 2008.

But with the announcement of the Wii MotionPlus, Ubisoft went back and retooled Red Steel 2 to make use of the Wii Remote peripheral to ensure more accurate FPS controls (a criticism of the first game) for the title. Since the game requires the MotionPlus, it will be sold in two packages: as a standalone game (for $49.99) and with the add-on included (for $59.99).

We'll have more soon.
