News: PS2 Guitar Hero developer will be making... more Guitar Hero games.
Activision has announced that they've acquired game developer Budcat Creations. The company has previously worked with Activision on the PS2 ports of Guitar Hero III, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: World Tour. Budcat also developed the PS2 port of Psychonauts.
Activison wasted no time in confirming that Budcat is currently working on another Guitar Hero game, although they were sketchy as to the exact nature of this game (*cough* Guitar Hero: Metllica *cough*).
"Budcat Creations is an outstanding developer with an experienced management team and a very talented group of programmers, designers and artists," said Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. "In addition to strengthening our development capabilities on the Nintendo platforms, this acquisition increases our Guitar Hero development resources as we continue to grow the franchise and expand our global leadership position in the music-based genre."
