First Sims 3 details @ Gaming Target

News: Spore? Spore who?

Since this is March 19, EA, As promised, has pulled back the curtain on more Sims 3 information. The game will be developed by EA Redwood Shores and is on track for a 2009 release.

The Sims 3 will feature a brand new game engine that has been in development for three years, according to EA. The game will also include a lot of new customization options and a huge open world, a "Sims City" if you will.

Here's what else EA says we should expect from The Sims 3:

New Seamless, Open Neighborhood - Explore the Neighborhood Freely.
See the sights with your Sims! The new seamless neighborhood architecture allows your Sims to roam freely around the neighborhood and visit their loved one and friendsЧor foes. In addition to determining your Sims body shape and size, you will also be able to fine-tune every feature on their faces, customize their hair style and select their skin tone, all from a vast selection of options.
