News: More DLC for Guitar Hero III.

Activision has announced the next two packs of downloadable content for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and I think they'll make a lot of GH3 owners very happy.

First up is today's offering, the "Modern Metal Pack". The pack is available on Xbox Live now and will be on the PlayStation Store later today. All always, the pack will be available for 500 Microsoft Points (or $6.25 on the PSN). The pack will contain the original master tracks of the following songs:

  • Deftones - ?Hole in the Earth?
  • Avenged Sevenfold - ?Almost Easy?
  • Thrice - ?The Arsonist.?

Moving on, Activision also announced that Guitar Hero III will get a special St. Patrick's Day pack in mid-March featuring the Dropkick Murphys. The Boston rockers will supply the original master tracks to three songs off their new CD: ?Famous for Nothing,? ?(F)lannigan's Ball? and ?Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya.?

Best of all, the pack will be available for free on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live. You know what that means don't you? More money for beer on St. Patty's Day. And you know what that means don't you? Drunken Guitar Hero!

We'll have more on Guitar Hero III's downloadable content soon.
