News: No more air drumming for the other people in your Rock Band.
Yesterday, MTV Games, Harmonix and EA announced the release dates for the standalone instrument kits for Rock Band.
Up first is the Rock Band Drum Kit. It will be released on February 12 for a retail price of $79.99. Two versions will be available: one just for the Xbox 360 and a PlayStation pack that will work with the PS2 or the PS3.
Then on April 1, the Rock Band Wireless Fender Stratocaster Guitar Controller will be available for a retail price of $59.99. It will also be available in Xbox 360 or PS2/PS3 versions.
?The release of standalone instruments allows Rock Band musicians to enjoy the full Rock Band experience, including drum, microphone and guitar head-to-head modes, creating a whole new level of competitive fun,? said Alex Rigopulos, CEO and co-founder, Harmonix. ?We're also delivering a stand-alone wireless guitar solution for all versions of Rock Band as well as providing the opportunity for consumers to build their band one instrument at a time.?
