News: More zombie lightgun action is coming to the Wii.

Sega has announced they are bringing The House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return to the Wii sometime in the future. Sadly it doesn't have a release date yet and yes, that mouthful is the real title. And I'm baffled about why we're not getting the full trilogy.

Newcomers and veteran players of the series will get the "full arcade experience" of both games with six modes of play include Arcade Mode and Time Attack. Players will also have option of using the Wii Zapper or an untethered Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo. Although why players would need the Nunchuk in a straight lightgun game is a mystery to me.

УThe House of the Dead franchise has been revitalized for today's gamer looking for non-stop shooting action on the Wii,Ф said Rick Naylor, Director of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. УThis will take gamers back to experience the celebrated first-person arcade shooter that was so popular in the late 90s.Ф

We'll have more on The House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return soon and if there's any justice in the world, a Wii release of Typing of the Dead.
