News: Titans rookie quarterback will be the coverboy for Madden NFL 08.

EA has chosen Vince Young, Tennessee Titans quarterback and the 2006 Rookie of the Year, to appear on the cover of Madden NFL 08.

"It is truly an honor for me to be on the cover of Madden NFL 08, every NFL player dreams of being on the cover," said Young. "After being named Rookie of the Year and going to the Pro Bowl my first season - this is a perfect way to start my second season in the NFL."

As always, this year's edition of Madden will be developed by EA Tiburon and will be released in August. The game will appear on every major platform as versions are planned for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PS3, PS2, GameCube, DS, Wii, PC and PSP.

EA is currently keeping quiet on what new features gamers can expect from this 18th rendition of John Madden Football.

Last year's Madden coverboy, Shaun Alexander of the Seahawks, went down with an injury in week 3 and suffered a dramatic decrease in his offensive statistics. Injuries have befallen every cover athlete of the game since EA has put NFL players on the cover starting with Madden NFL 99. Thus, the "Madden Curse" was born.

We'll have more on EA's venerable sports franchise (and any updates on Vince Young's health) soon.
